Truespeed launches consumer broadband across the North West and Midlands, completing first phase of Freedom Truespeed Group integration

6th August 2026

Key milestone delivered in three months after merger completion, as Freedom Truespeed Group demonstrates its ability to execute fast, disciplined post-merger integration.

The Freedom Truespeed Group today announced that the Truespeed brand has launched fullfibre broadband services across Freedom Fibre’s wholesale network in the North West and
West Midlands.

This launch extends Truespeed’s highly rated customer propositions into these regions for the first time and marks completion of the first phase of integration with Freedom Fibre, delivered
just three months after the merger closed in May.

The combined Group brings together Freedom Fibre’s wholesale platform with Truespeed’s established retail capabilities, creating a scalable full-fibre footprint across the North West,
Midlands, South West and East of England.

Homes and businesses in Freedom Fibre’s network area in the North West and Midlands can now order Truespeed’s full-fibre packages directly for the first time.

This milestone also tangibly demonstrates the strategic rationale for the merger: combining wholesale infrastructure with proven retail execution to support faster growth and a clear path to profitability, while maintaining continuity for existing customers and wholesale partners.

Nathan Vautier, CEO of Freedom Truespeed Group, said:
“Three months ago, we set out to prove that Freedom Truespeed Group could quickly bring two complementary businesses together while maintaining trading momentum, delivering efficiencies and realising commercial benefit by opening the combined network footprint with cross-brand access. Today’s launch is the first tangible milestone in that plan, delivered on schedule and to the standard of disciplined execution our customers, partners and investors expect as we continue to scale.

Nelson Missier, Chief Strategy & Commercial Officer of Freedom Truespeed Group, said:
“Bringing Truespeed’s award-winning broadband and customer experience onto Freedom Fibre’s network in three months shows what focused teams can achieve at pace. We are delighted to start offering Truespeed’s ultrafast broadband and WiFi propositions to customers across the North West and Midlands..”

Freedom Fibre will continue to operate as the Group’s wholesale, open-access network platform, with Truespeed and LilaConnect as the in-house customer-facing retail brands alongside a range of national and regional ISP Partners. Further Retail, Wholesale and Network milestones will follow in phases over the coming months.

Freedom Fibre and Truespeed confirm merger completion to create the Freedom Truespeed Group

30th April 2026

Freedom Fibre and Truespeed have today confirmed the completion of their merger, following regulatory approval, creating the Freedom Truespeed Group: a scaled, capital-efficient full fibre platform with an expanded regional footprint across the UK.

The transaction brings together two highly complementary full fibre networks, with the combined business serving more than 412,000 premises Ready for Service (RFS) and around 70,000 customers across the North West, West Midlands, South West and East of England.

By combining Freedom Fibre’s wholesale, open-access network with Truespeed’s established retail capability, the group is well positioned to support continued growth across both wholesale and consumer markets. The merger reflects a shared ambition to build a stronger, more resilient business that can compete effectively in an increasingly competitive and consolidating sector.

The combined network benefits from strong regional density and limited overlap, enabling greater operational efficiency and more effective capital deployment. The business is also virtually unlevered, providing a strong financial foundation to support future investment and long-term growth.

Following completion of the merger, the combined business will operate as the Freedom Truespeed Group. For customers and partners, there is no immediate change to how services are delivered or how the business operates. Freedom Fibre will continue as the group’s wholesale network, working with its established ecosystem of partners, while Truespeed and LilaConnect remain customer-facing brands across the expanded footprint.

Nathan Vautier, CEO of the Freedom Truespeed Group, said:

“The completion of this merger is an important milestone for both businesses. By bringing together Truespeed and Freedom Fibre, we have created a stronger platform with the scale, capabilities and financial strength to compete effectively in the UK market. We remain focused on delivering high-quality connectivity for our customers and supporting our partners as we move into this next phase”

The businesses’ focus in the near term will be on maintaining service continuity and outstanding customer service, while planning the integration of systems, processes and teams in a phased and considered way.
